Income Taxes |
15. Income Taxes During the three and six months ended June 30, 2025 and 2024, there was no provision for income taxes as the Company incurred losses during those periods. Deferred tax assets and liabilities reflect the net tax effect of temporary differences between the carrying amount of assets and liabilities for financial reporting purposes and the amounts used for income tax purposes. The Company recorded a full valuation allowance against its deferred tax assets as the Company believes it is more likely than not the deferred tax assets will not be realized. On July 3, 2025, the United States Congress passed, and on July 4, 2025, President Trump signed into law, budget reconciliation bill H.R. 1 referred to as the One Big Beautiful Bill (“OBBB”). The OBBB contains several changes to corporate taxation including modifications to capitalization of research and development expenses, limitations on deductions for interest expense and accelerated fixed asset depreciation. The Company is still in the process of evaluating the OBBB and currently does not expect it to have a material impact on its condensed consolidated financial statements. |
